Mauren Vane
Race: Human Mauren is a woman of indeterminate age, her skin so permanently stained by charcoal and pine tar that she appears to be made of the forest itself. She wears heavy, fire-resistant leather aprons and is rarely seen without a long stirring pole in her hand. Like many in Grimhaven, she is a woman of few words and maintains a "practical faith". She publicly recites the Doctrine's verses but privately trusts the "forest wisdom" that keeps her boilers from exploding. Mauren is head of the Resin-Boilers Den where she resides most of the time. She is the sister of Silas Vane and the mother of Ling Vane |
